what’s in a name anyways?

You’ll never guess where I came up with the name for this blog. Well actually if you know me at all the thought process will not surprise you. Many many moons ago aka Presidential election of 2008, I found myself researching excellent night life places in St. Louis, MO. Current co-workers informed me of this beer garden in St. Louis that is the bomb. Quite naturally I googled the place and the only thing I took away from that website was the phrase “horror vacui”. Sadly, the campaign trail placed me far south of St. Louis and I still have never visited.

Horror Vacui simply means afraid of space. Think Where’s Waldo. This can be applied to all aspects of life. I put great effort into making sure I have space in my life, you know free quality time to devote to people/activities and not rushing to the next thing. I think it takes more effort to defend my schedule than it would if I let life dictate the schedule!

So, don’t be afraid of space! Take time to think before you hit publish, send, enter, tweet, re-tweet, post, reply – did I miss any adjectives? Here’s to holding mself to this!
